Origin and history
The former manor house of Valssoution, also known as "Valsoution Farm", is a monument located in Presles, Val-d-d-Oise. This site was partially protected by an inscription under the Historic Monuments in December 2022. The elements involved include facades, roofs of buildings, fence walls, and the floor of the plot, including an old cellar and ditches.
The manor house is on the way to Liberation, in a setting that suggests a historical occupation related to agriculture or a seigneurial residence. The approximate location, indicated by GPS coordinates, corresponds to Alexandre Prachay Street. Although the details of its exact origin and past use are limited, its recent listing reflects its heritage and architectural value.
The Île-de-France region, where Presles is located, has long been marked by a mix of agricultural activities and aristocratic residences. Manor houses, such as the one in Valdéfant, could be used as land management centres or as living places for wealthy families.
